The United States Postal Service is in the red yet again but this time it seems they are taking a different tac that makes much more sense.
Instead of yet again raising prices they are laying off 120,000 employees and switching from their current Federal workers health and retirement programs. The unions are of course screaming they have contracts that ban layoffs.
It would seem they have listened to the customer and are considering dropping to 5 day delivery also.
The amazing part is a non-government agency that is using the retirement disablity program of the Federal government is asking not to have to pay it's 5.5 billion dollar payment (read bail out) because it would max out their spending limit and no other government agency has to pay into it.
